Princeville great, but needs overhaul
The Princeville resort is an ENORMOUS, palatial style hotel. Its beautiful with spectacular views of the sunset. Pool is great and beach is small but clean and pleasant. Unfortunately, for a 5* resort, its far from perfect. The whole place needs an overhaul (incl the TVs!) The place charges for EVERYTHING, at really high prices ($7/hour for snorkel gear you can get 10 min away for $5/day). Restaurants are pricey too and really nothing special. Overall I would still recommend the hotel but just be warned on all the extras.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Make minimal purchase at the hotel. Everything is overpriced!

Relaxing in Paradise
Beautiful hotel with a great view. The staff and concierge were very friendly and welcoming. The valet team was always fast and friendly. Sunset on the beach was perfect. The pool could be larger, but the ocean and beach is just right there, so you have options. The only negative experience was hoping to participate in the hotel activitys golf lessons, but the instructor did not show up. otherwise, we loved it there and would defintely stay there again if we ever came back to kauai.
Traveler's tip on dining
Hanalei Dolphins was delicious. The sushi in Kauai was fresh and the best Ive had. Stock up for groceries at the Safeway in Kaapa.
