Almost Perfect

We stayed at this hotel for two nights the week of New Year’s Eve for a quick get away. It was conveniently located on the south end of the island just off the causeway from Port Isabella and within walking distance to the main strip; although it was more convenient to go by car due to the cool weather. The staff were friendly and accomodating, the restaurant food was better than expected and very reasonably priced which was a nice surprise. The hotel has large pools and a large heated hot tub which would be in nice the right season as well as direct beach access without having to climb the dunes. We walked quite a bit of the beach and it seems this is one of only two hotels with direct access. They allow pets with a pet waiver at no cost which is different from most other hotels. Our only disappointment was when we sat down on the patio area after a walk on the beach. We were goint to have a drink before going up to our room for the night, but were asked to leave because we had our leashed dog with us. The hotel employee explained that the entire exterior of the hotel was part of the resaraunt and was nice about it, but it was 45 degrees, we were the only ones outside, and it was 10:00 at night so it did take some of the shine off what had been a very nice night. It taught us the difference between a hotel that accepts animals and those that are animal friendly. Otherwise it was a good experience and we would stay there again.

SUPER DUPER

ABSOLUTELY everything flawless at this hotel from staff to restaurant but I have one very important complaint. Housekeeping could be better, such as, floors are not cleaned properly. I found the whole service sloppy almost to the point of not having it done except we needed linens. They didn’t even move shampoo bottles when cleaning the bath/shower except on one occasion (we stayed nine days).

What a way to Ruin a Great Vacation

It was a great 3 day Thanksgiving weekend vacation until breakfast Sunday morning before we departed! The hotel was great ... great room, great service, friendly staff, so what happened?!?! During Sunday breakfast in the hotel, my girlfriend found a roach in her Yogurt. The staff was very attentive and offered to replace the yogurt then finally didn’t charge us for any of the breakfast. We were all just glad she spotted it before taking a bite…
