Fabulous service, beautiful property
Do not hesitate to book a stay at this hotel, it is wonderful. We stayed three days during Hurricane Ida (which thankfully turned out to be only three days of heavy rain). Despite the poor weather and hurricane worry, the staff could not have been more acccomodating and helpful. Restaurants are great, food is excellent, rooms are beautiful. We suggest that you do not go all-inclusive, as their are numerous wonderful restaurants from simple to fancy all within a few blocks. We did book a room-and-breakfast stay, and were very pleased with that choice.
Right across the street is Jax bar and restaurant, a terrific fun place run by Texans. $1 beers all day and terrific food, especially fish tacos. Definitely rent a golf cart one day, you can get it at the hotel for around $45. Just ask Jaime, the worlds best bellboy/valet/concierge aka James Bond, he will set it up and have it delivered to hotel -- that is the price everywhere, you dont pay extra. Just get on the main road, it is a loop, and go explore. The little lighthouse at the extreme south end of the island is very manageable, it is free, and has glorious views. Drive across the wooden bridge to Avalon Reef (just ask Jaime, hell tell you where it is) and have a drink in their beautiful tiki bar. Good views of the caribbean ocean there also. We booked a low-end suite in order to get the deal with free transportation to and from the airport. TOTALLY WORTH IT. The price balanced out, and it was marvelous to have english-speaking guides meet us and escort us from airport to private shuttle to ferry to taxi to hotel. And back again. You can do it on your own without problem, but wow how relaxing to be guided through the process. We loved Isla Mujeres, it is completely laid back and casual. If you do not expect glitz and are prepared for relaxation and friendliness, you will love it too.

Wonderful, Relaxing Vacation
We arrived not knowing what to expect with our all-inclusive deal. This hotel was very Mexican unlike our stay at the Palace Resorts where we were secluded from everything. We were right in the middle of island life with a great view of both shores. The room was clean and met all our needs. We loved the Jacuzzi on the balcony. The only thing we didnt like was the school with a blaring loud speaker across the street that started at 6:30 AM, but if you go during holidays, you wont have that, and honestly, we were able to overlook it after the first day. Service was extremely slow by American standards, but we didnt have anywhere urgent to be, so we just relaxed on "Mexican Time" and enjoyed our 2.5 hour meals. We also realized that they were very short staffed because the hotel was only at about 15% capacity due to the swine flu scare and being there in off season. There were several excellent waiters, and the concierge was extremely helpful. They even booked a trip to the mainland to the Ruins for us one day. The hotels transportation to and from the island was also extremely good. All of the facilities were clean and well maintained. The food was excellent. Everything had a wonderful flavor, and we looked forward to seeing what each meal would bring. Overall, we had a wonderful time. It was very relaxing. All of our needs were met adequately for the price we paid. We would definitely go back to this place for an economy vacation again.
We went the first week of November, which is just before peak season begins on Thanksgiving. Nothing was crowded, and we got very personalized service because there were less than 40 people staying at the hotel.

Very Impressed and will be going back in May 2010
The staff was very attentive to all your needs. Beach is the best in Mexico and very relaxing. Rooms and food were the best I have found in Mexico.
