Bleibtreu, nice hotel (but should be in Prenzlauer Berg)
Bleibtreu Hotel is listed in the book 1000 things to see before you die. Although we would not go so far it is definitely a nice hotel. A charming place where I think almost everybody should feel comfortable. Breakfast gave us a good start into the day. Good middleclass. Kurfürstendamm is not a good place for tourists, though, except if you like a boilerplate experience (being someone more attracted to Prenzlauer Berg area, as I found out). So Bleibtreu is a perfect hotel for business trips, I guess.

Nice boutique-style hotel in a quiet part of town
I have stayed here a number of times. The breakfast buffet is great - although if you book through one of the online services like Expedia, it is not included. The rooms are classy, mod, designy, the leave an apple in your room - the sort of boutique hotel thing. Very clean, friendly - good for business travelers or a romantic outing but I would not recommend it for families. It is in the West side of town near the Ku’dam and not far from Savigny Platz u-bahn station - lots of restaurants and little stores around. One drawback - common in European hotels - shower curtain does not prevent water from getting all over the floor in the bathrooms. You would think that this problem is solvable!
