Was a Good Choice
5 Star Hotel with 3 star rooms (but once they were monks cells). Great location and helpful staff. We would have preferred one of the top quality B&Bs but it was a busy season, most were full and we didnt want a long search. This was an easy and very good choice but fairly pricy for the Oaxaca.

Great location, interesting hotel, but dark rooms
We had read many terrific reviews of this hotel so we had high expectations. It is a very interesting building historically, and in a very good location, but it was at best a three star hotel. The rooms are a tad small, and probably just due to the fact that this place is several hundred years old, they are quite dark, and the furnishings are a bit old. The beds are fairly comfy, and the bathrooms reasonably equipped. They do feature a great breakfast. We were told that if you want to stay in this area this is the best option.
