Good value in excellent location
The Tremont is in an excellent location with 2 beautiful old churchs on two sides. It is 1/2 block off Michigan but far enough west to not put you immediately in the busy madhouse of car and pedestrian traffic. We have stayed here before with a similar experience. The hotel is old. Just know that. And, because it is, it is not as big or modern as the newer hotels. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was pretty clean (probably very clean, but, you know how being old just feels), and Diktas being downstairs kept it lively in the lobby. Of course we were there during the Christmas rush and a Bears game, so it was very busy at the hotel. The rooms are various sizes, but we always ask for one of the corner rooms which are a bit larger. The bathroom had been updated so it was small, but, otherwise fine. All in all, if you can catch the Tremont for a good price, its a bargain in many respects.

Small room but ...
Old hotel with a great mid week rate. Small, clean room and a comfortable bed. 100 ft. from Michigan Ave. Nice staff. Wouldnt have appreciated the room as much at the weekend rate. About double the price.

Great value
This hotel was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. The location couldnt be better because youre a block from Mich Ave and a block from Rush Street. The value for this hotel is awesome because you dont have to break the bank to stay in a prime location. Hotel was older but had lots of charm. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. The free Wi-Fi was a plus and very convenient. This is a great home base for enjoying downtown Chicago. Youre in walking distance to Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Rush Street, and a quick $10 cab ride to the museums or Lincoln Park. If youre looking for luxury and amenities this is not your ideal hotel. But, if youre looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a prime, safe location at a reasonable rate, I recommend this hotel. I definitely will stay at this hotel again.
