LOVE THIS HOTEL!
My husband and I stayed here in October 2009. We absolutely loved this hotel! It is actually an apartment building that rents out rooms. We were so surprised when we opened the door to find an entire apartment with fully stocked kitchen, bedroom, large living room and bath. Our room overlooked the zoo across the street, and we could see the Chicago skyline out of our side window. The hotel was built in 1922 and the lobby is absolutely stunning. The breakfast was really nice. The bed was really comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood was very quaint. There is a bus stop right across the street which made it easy to get downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again.
I would definitely recommend purchasing a multi-day public transportation pass as soon as you get in town. It covers travel by bus, subway and rail. You can get anywhere you want to go with this pass.

Lovely place to stay
Thanks to those who recommended this hotel. Lovely part of Chicago to stay. Safe & clean. Great lobby. I would stay there again anytime.
Had a great time on this tour. I took it with my 25-year-old son who works for the trolley company in Chicago. But he enjoyed it as well since we actually got to go into the businesses and in many cases, meet the owners. Great food tastings, fun guide (we all loved Jen), and the walk through the neighborhoods was such fun! Great way to view Chicago.
