Great location, friendly helpfull staff, a sleeper bargain.
I stayed at this hotel booked through Expedia, only because it was the closest big hotel to Staples Center, as I was attending the Grammy Awards and wanted to be able to walk in case traffic that night became a nightmare. Staples is only a ten minute 4 block walk from the hotel. It was very clean, the people working there were very friendly and accommodating, and I had a pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to family members. The breakfast buffet which was $17 including tip is fantastic, and if you consider you don’t have to eat lunch after this it serves as two meals. Anyone staying in Downtown has to be aware that after 5 o’clock pm the area is all but dead (sort of like wall street area in NY). I would definitely stay again for business downtown (25 min cab ride to LAX right in right out). Its a tremendous bargain especially booked through Expedia. Far exceeding my expectations because of the great attitude of the nice people working there, and very clean. Free wifi as well.

Love staying at the Wilshire Grand !
I wish that Wilshire Grand would offer a reduced rate for underground guests who have to park their car there. Maybe some sort of a discount if you stay 3 or more nights they would offer some monies off the parking garage fare.

Nice Budget Hotel
The Wilshire Grand is an old hotel. There is no escaping the fact. The furniture, fixtures, and bathrooms are antiquated, but that is not to say that it is a bad hotel. While comfortable, clean, well staffed, and large, the hotel could benefit greatly from a remodel. The hotel is very large and the bleak, expansive hallways are simply depressing. In the rooms, wi-fi and large flat-screen televisions are modern luxuries, but the furniture and fixtures are old and need to be updated. The rooms are large and spacious, but the space utilization is odd and there is a lot of unfilled empty space. Finally, the bathrooms are small and cramped and make things difficult if multiple people are staying in a room. All of that being said, the hotel offers great services and a convenient location. The staff is very helpful and they try very hard to please guests. If this hotel where to remodel and update its furniture, it would gain stars quickly.
