This place stank
I did not pay for the "upgrade" as I expected Holiday Inn quality in all rooms. However, my room stank, reeked of smoke. Cigarette burns and stains in the carpet, hairs on the chair, concierge too busy texting to talk to me, old worn furniture and ripped sheets. Just gross.

Good location
On the busiest day of the year (Mayday) when literally thousands of gamblers cross the borders from China and Hong Kong we were relieved to be able to book a room at a sensible price at the last minute. The location is good, easy walking distance to the historical main square with its pretty Portugese buildings and very close to two large casinos. True we were upgraded to a suite which no doubt improved our view of the hotel but the staff was very attentive and the restaurant bufet was extensive and very good value. As we hadn’t arrived until 2.30 am our departure time was extended the next morning - without asking.

Spending the holidays at the Holiday Inn
Well, since we couldn’t afford the gargantuan rates of Venetian Macau, Holiday Inn is not that bad at all. It was clean, accessible, they have free shuttle. All is cool with the Holiday Inn. I’d like to come back there again.
