Great stay in Aruba

The best part about this hotel is that it is located at the very end of the resort area (last hotel on the strip if you will). The beach and water were pristine and uncrowded. Later in the trip we stayed at the Holiday Inn, which borders one of the other Marriotts, and it was totally different. The Aruba Marriott has an exclusive feel to it. Steakhouse at Aruba Marriott (Ruth’s Chris) was awesome. The concierge arranged for jeep tour for us (Natural Pool tour), which we enjoyed on our final day here.

Anniversary Trip in Paradise!

This hotel was great. People were friendly and helpful. It is such an American feel, but the Arubian influence is maintained. The rooms were clean and the bed/linen was very comfortable. We left out valuables and never had any problems. We ate at the Sushi place , Champion’s restaurant and Ruth’s Chris and these were very good. We used the fitness center every day and it was great! Treadmills with TV’s, headphones, lemon water, good selection of weights. The beach was fantastic as many say. The palapa’s were hard to reserve. If you know you want to hang out at the beach a lot I would reserve one for 3 days for between $15-20. Otherwise there was a lot of shade and other chairs with umbrellas that provided adequate shade. I would bring bug spray as there were several times of annoying mosquitos and house flies. We used the Mandara Spa next door at Ocean Club and found the massages great (50 minutes for $175 which included 20% convenience fee and tip!). We always felt safe throughout the island! People were very friendly and not pushy. We used USD throughout with no problem. Make sure you let your credit card company know before coming down, but everyone took Visa, MC, Discover, American Express! The airport is fine, but get there 3 hours before your departing flight as you go through all customs before boarding your plane (you are actually considered to be in USA at the gate. We found that it took us 2 hours from arrival to gate and it was fairly busy.
