Awesome concierge, but skip the restaurant
My husband and I spent three nights in this hotel in October 2009. The highlight of our stay was the concierge service. The two women who work at the concierge desk are knowledgeable and well-connected in Napa Valley. Despite it being a busy weekend, they were able to set up a wonderful wine tour at the last minute and at an excellent price. They also provided good recommendations for restaurants within walking distance. Otherwise, the hotel is brand new, the rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable, good showers. We liked the location in downtown Napa, particularly because we could go out for dinner without having to worry about driving home or paying exorbitant Napa taxi fares. One important caveat is that the service in the restaurant is terrible. The servers were inattentive, impatient and sometimes downright rude. My husband ordered a cup of coffee at the beginning of the meal and never got it. The service at the Sunday brunch was significantly better, but still wanting. Still, this is probably the best deal in Napa Valley right now.
If you love steak, Coles Chop House in Downtown Napa is cant-miss.
