If you want luxury, look elsewhere.
Pros: Convenient location to Ogden Theater and the Irish Snug. The price was reasonable. The bed was comfortable. Noon checkout. Cons: This is an older hotel that needs a good cleaning and renovation. The hotel was pretty alive for 2am-4am and often drunken people were wandering the hallways being loud. The front desk staff seemed pretty uninterested in checking us in or out. Our room was facing Colfax Ave and there was plenty of street noise.

Good value
This hotel is dated, but is sound. They need upgrades as it just looks old and slightly rundown. You probably dont want to walk around the neighborhood much, though I walked down to the convenience store with a friend. A woman might feel less comfortable. Very good value for what I needed. I was at a conference where the conference hotels were $219 /night. They have a shuttle to the convention center. I heard from others that scheduling the shuttle was a terrible. I didnt need it as we had a vehicle.
Must eat at Maggianos downtown on 16th street. Ive eaten there twice now and they treated us royally.

terrible service
Granted, it was halloween night, but there were still a few bad features that could have been addressed: * no internet (after working an hour with a 3rd party tech) * no towels (after 3 calls and finally having to walk down the next morning to get the last 1.) *no control (hanky panky in the halls, screaming, fighting, and lots of pot.) * no parking (yes there is a large parking lot, but not an available space and had to walk a mile down colfax on the craziest nights of the year with wife and 2 kids.)
