Location is great but room was small
The room was a lot smaller than what we thought it was going to be but the staff always had it clean by the time we got back. The concierge desk was very helpful and answered any questions we had. We didnt eat at the hotel but Kyoto station has so many options to choose from. The location is the best since you can get anywhere in the city by walking across the street.

Great Place To Stay In Kyoto
The New Miyako Hotel is across the street from the Kyoto Train Station, giving you convenient access to the shingansen, many railway lines and numerous breakfast and meal choices. Several convenience stores and a grocery store provided more choices for meals and snacks. From the hotel it was very easy to get to many of the famous sites in Kyoto, either by foot or by train. The Bell Desk was also had a helpful map, and the concierge made some good suggestions for places to eat away from the train station. Our room was large enough for two people and two suitcases, and was always clean when we returned. Unlike some other hotels, the temperature controls were easy to access and change, so our stay in the room was comfortable. The refrigerator in the room was also large enough to hold breakfast and some drinks, allowing to save some meal money, as eating in Japan is not always cheap. The hallways and public gathering areas were also kept clean, even with the large number of guests that the hotel seems to attract. A comfortable and convenient place that was also good value for our money!
