Great place to stay in Austin!
Ask for a room on the 2nd floor near the pool. It was surprisingly wonderful.

Nice hotel
It was nice to have several restaurant choices within easy walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel had good room service.

old-fashioned hotel w/lobby
This is an old-style "lobby" hotel...parking is a hassle...it is like airport parking where you have to swipe your room card to get in, then you drive up & around a dingy, dark ramp to your floor...then you have to swipe your card to get onto the floor & walk down long hallways to your room. The AC was musty & the smelled of mold. The TV was old w/poor cable reception. Everything is extra: parking($8/day,) internet in the room is $10/day (or you can get it for free in the lobby,) & breakfast. Don’t even expect a hot, fresh cup of coffee in the morning, unless you want to pay $5 for a pot. Continental breakfast is available in the lobby restaurant for $10. Your great grandparents might like this place but I would not recommend it to anyone used to the more modern conveniences of a Hyatt Place or even a Hampton.
