Loved It!
This is a great hotel in a perfect location on the Lake. We stayed on the 4th floor and payed for the Superior Room with a balcony - definitely worth the price. The crane is still working in front of the hotel - it’s January 2010, and looks like it will be out front for months to come. However, it didn’t hurt the view from 4th floor. The photos on Expedia may be older, because our room was very modernized and updated - a nice surprise. The bathroom has beautiful slate tile and a heated towel bar. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Location - Beautiful View - Great Staff
Our visit to Como could not have been more perfect. The Hotel Metropole Suisse was a great choice for us. The hotel was very centrally located, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate (and non-smoking), the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked! The Hotel Metropole Suisse was a great value for the price.
Traveler's tip on dining
The front desk staff gave us a GREAT restaurant recommendation - Gesamin Restaurant - just five blocks from the hotel, an easy walk. The food was so good, we went back again the next night for another round of excellent Italian cooking. Maria, the owner, speaks no English, but we had no trouble communicating and it was hugs and kisses all around on our departure.
