Great New York Visit!!

Great location. Walked everywhere we wanted to go except to "ground zero". Great bed and great bathroom. Did I say it was a GREAT trip??

Always a Pleasure

I must have stayed at the Sofitel about 8-10 times in the last 5-6 years and not once have I been disappointed. After a 3 year hiatus I returned to the hotel in August and the doorman remembered my name as did the front desk staff. What was nice was to see that old staff were still at the hotel after 5 odd years, which shows how well Sofitel take care of their employees. I really dont know what makes this hotel so special as the decor is getting a little out of date and I love ultra modern hotels; but I simply love this hotel! The customer service is fantastic and the rooms extremely comfortable. Food at The Gaby restaurant is exceptional and affordable; and you are minutes from fifth avenue. Book the experience; you wont be disappointed.

Sofitel New York, NY

Very nice hotel and location is excellent for the city for restaurants, broadway shows, Times Square, and subways, etc. Look forward to staying here again. Staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant.

Elegant comfort in NYC

This hotel was top of the line in comfort and service. The rooms were spacious - especially the luxury bathroom. It was really the quietest hotel room I have ever slept in! It is quite pricey - but if you have the money to spend I would highly recommend it. The staff was above and beyond when meeting our needs - I can’t say enough about how they helped me out when I had mistakenly booked the room for 2 nights instead of 3.

The room service is ridiculously expensive, so if you want to eat in your room, I would highly recommend DaMarino, 220 W. 49th St., New York, NY 10019 They deliver and have a wonderful, reasonable menu. Large portions.

Comfortable Oasis in the Big Apple

Enjoyed a long weekend trip with friends and was glad we decided on the Sofitel for our stay. Clean, quiet, beautiful surroundings, staff was attentive when we asked anything. I would love to make another visit!

Great place for theater.

We chose this hotel based solely on the advice of fellow Expedia travelers. The recommendations were right on! The staff and accomodations were wonderful with not a single negative experience. We will definitely go back! The location was perfect - close to all the action, but on a very quiet street.

Great Weekend Spot

We booked a room at the sofitel and it wasnt all that we expected i mean the hotel was clean and new and dont get me wrong the hotel staff was friendly but the only promblem was our room the view wasnt the best it was of an air conditioning unit on the other building, we had asked to get a room change which we were able to do. I would say that if you get a room on the 11th floor watch out

Our first trip to New York and without fail we will be staying at the Sofitel again. I have rereferred it to colleagues who have used it both for business and pleasure, in both cases they were grateful. Excellent staff, cleanliness, facilities, etc.. Thanks.

Love the Sofitel

Recently went to NYC with my sister to celebrate her 60th birthday. Have been to New York several times before, but this time I spent the extra money and got a nicer hotel. So worth it! It was pure luxury from beginning to end. The beds are so comfortable I don’t think I even moved once I fell asleep. Will definitely make this my hotel of choice for any future visits.

Great hotel in NYC

I would say that Sofitel is one of the best hotels to stay in NYC. We stayed over the weekend in a Junior Executive Suite and we were extremely satisfied with the quality, comfort and cleanliness of the suite. You will never go wrong with this hotel. The location is perfect; check-in was a breeze (our early check-in request was accommodated)and we were given a beautiful suite at the top (29th) floor. They have very courteous staff who provided excellent customer service. Overall, Sofitel is an excellent hotel!

Very nice..would stay again.

I really like the location,not being on Times Square, but a stones throw away. Staff was helpful. Room was a little smaller than I expected, but honeslty, we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway.

Don’t use the Super Shuttle...we lost atleast an hour waiting, then another hour to get to the hotel. It’s just as cheap to get a cab.

Very Nice Hotel If...

We purchased a buy-two-nights-get-one-free deal -- thus 3 nights for the price of 2. Under that deal, this is a VERY nice value, and definitely beats the competition in the neighborhood. Lobby is a bit too business-like, but room was very comfortable, very clean, good sized and came with nice amenities ... and the bed was extremely comfortable (I missed it when I got home to my own bed!). But, without the deal we had on pricing, this hotel is probably a bit overpriced.

Lovely Sanctuary

In the hustle and bustle of NYC, the Sofitel is tucked away on a quiet street still minutes away from everywhere you want to go. It is clean, cool, classy and comfortable. The room was very inviting and the chic picnic and late check out were wonderful perks to the package I had. Highly enjoyed it.

Always stay @ Sofitel - in any city

We always stay at the Sofitel because of the quality, luxury & service combined with reasonable prices. One small item - the king bed was slightly unbalanced & leaned to the floor. I reported it to the front desk at check out - to which they apologized & said it would be investigated. Also the concierges were spot on with their recommendations (restaurants & flowers).

Great breakfast at DB Moderne @ the Club Quarters and fantastic late night dinner at Kellari Tavern - Greek menu with incredibly fresh & whole fish - very well prepared.

Always stay here

We love this hotel - great service, fantastic rooms. It is starting to show a bit of wear and tear - had to go to 3 floors to find a working ice machine - but otherwise continues to be our favorite new york hotel. We stay 2-3 times/year
