Fantastic time in Maui
We had a wonderful time in Maui. The weather was not overly hot or humid. The grounds were well kept and the hotel was clean. The only disappointment was the resturant did not offer much in the way of menu selections. In fact it had one menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu never changed. We had to have our shower head changed as it sprayed water all over the place, including outside of the shower.

Staffing Issues
Upon arrival, we were told a king bed was not available (as booked) in our package and we would have to pay for an upgrade. Parking at 10-15 dollars a day needs to be included in your hotel description. The hotel cafe had a breakfast special until 8 AM and when we told the waiter that was what we were having, he actually looked at his watch in disgust. This was not my first stay at the Royal Lahaina and outside of some staffing issues, I would recommend this hotel to friends not looking for a royal welcome.

Honeymoon in Maui
My wife and I chose Royal Lahaina to get away from the overpriced hotel chains while maximizing our value and experience on our honeymoon. We could not have been more delighted when the friendly receptionist took sympathy on us and our lost baggage situation and double-upgraded us from a garden view cottage room to a partial ocean-view room in the tower. Also, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room as honeymooners! We were impressed with the very recently renovated rooms in the tower and our view of the ocean where we woke up every day to the site of humpback whales out in the ocean (December- early March?).

Children Stay and Eat Free - Family Program
Children 17 years and younger stay free when sharing a room with parents utilizing existing beds. One rollaway bed limit in room. Maximum is four persons in room unless otherwise noted. Extra persons over age 17 or where additional bedding is required will be charged the additional person rate. Children 5 years and under receive free breakfast and free dinner when accompanied by a paying adult. One child per paying adult.
