One of best hotels I have stayed at ever
This hotel was absolutely fantastic. I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Maui right before we came to the Mauna Kea and this hotel by far outclassed the Ritz in every way. The place is beautiful, great architecture and the beach is unreal. The staff was so pleasant and helpful - This was a 5 star service hotel even though I think it only shows 4 stars. I will only stay at the Mauana Kea when I come back to the big island.

Exceeded our expectations
The service, amenities and friendliness of the staff was beyond compare. We were enthralled with the location, beautiful beach, amazing hotel with Asian art. All was perfect. We plan to go back!
Great beach for children, not crowded, and easy snorkeling nearby.

Wonderful Service
Our six night stay at the Mauna Kea was everything we had hoped for: beautiful views, delicious food, and total relaxation. The staff was very helpful and seemed genuinely happy to assist us. We loved that our most challenging choice each day was whether to sit on the beach or by the pool.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you can only handle so much total relaxation, a visit to the other side of the island especially to Volcano National Park is a very cool day trip.
