Great place to stay to explore San Francisco
I travel on business to SF 3 or 5 times a year for the past 10 years. Ive stayed all over the city and suburbs and The Tuscan Inn on Fishermans Wharf is a hotel Ill go back to next time I travel. Right from the start of my visit when the parking attendants took immediate care of me and my car, through check out, the staff was efficient, friendly and accommodating. The King room I had (for one person) wasnt big, but it was well laid out. The WiFi worked perfectly, the bed was very comfortable and it was well decorated. I didnt take advantage of the nightly wine tastings as I am in the wine business already, but there was always a group of people sampling wine and talking and having a good time in the lobby in the late afternoons. It is a very convenient location, you can walk to North Beach and Chinatown, a good parking garage is right across the street; simply put, it is a good value in a good location.
Take a hike up into the Golden Gate National Rec area on the Marin side of the Golden Gate bridge. It is a beautiful, winding trail leading up the Marin headlands to beautiful views of San Francisco, the ocean, and the entire Bay area.

Location is the Only thing going for this place.
If youre looking for a nice getaway from home then this is not the place for you. This is a place to sleep and thats it. The elevators were broken when we got there, the staff was abrupt and unhelpful. The bathroom towelrack was broken, the hallways smelt like cigarettes. The hotel attached was way overpriced and the food is disgusting. Parking cost a fortune. Literally the only thing going for this place was that it was close to fishermans wharf. Which we saw everything there in 2 days. So we packed up and spent the next 4 days in Union Square. If youre gonna spend time in San Fran, then stay in union square.
