I would go back
The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. There were no issues. Nothing to complain about. The continental breakfast saved money and time which was definitely a plus.

Extremely comfortable
Everything about the hotel was as expected, we were extremely satisfied by the service, comfort, and breakfast. If we are ever in that area again we would love to stay there again.

very impressed
Rooms were very large, I bet it was almost 500 sq. ft. One strange thing is the bathroom sink is right next to the room entrance and the area around it is carpeted. Hard to get ready in the morning without waking your roomie. Having a micro, fridge, sink in the mini bar was great. Also got free Showtime. Being a little older hotel, I could hear people above us and next to us but everyone goes to sleep early in this area. Need to save energy for the trails. I thought the breakfast was one of the better free ones Ive seen. The make your own waffles are my favorite. They also had cheese omelets pre-made on ice. Packaged breakfast burritos like you get out of a vending machine. Salsa, packaged fruit cups and yogurt. The entire facility was nice and the desk personnel were friendly. Location is not bad for the first night on a Yosemite trip. I think Oakhurst is too far too commute from the Valley and we stayed at Yosemite Lodge.
Load up on food/ snacks/sandwiches at Vons in Oakhurst. Gas was also pretty cheap. I think I saw a movie theater nearby, too. 1st night in Oakhurst and then see the Giant Sequoias in the Mariposa Groves, Check out Wawona and then spend the rest of your time in Yosemite Valley. First two weeks of December are the most deadest time of the year at Yosemite. Ive never seen the Valley so empty. Quite a few things are closed, Glacier Point, Toulaume Meadows, Tioga Pass and a lot of eating places. But the tranquility was worth it.
