Would stay again and again

The Raphael was wonderful. You’re met with smiles at any time day or night. Everyone spoke english and were very courtous even to go out of their way to assist in a fine resturant and assist in flight arrangements. It was a great stay and we would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Raphael is central to many fine attractions. 85 walking step to the Piazza Navona with its shops, fountains and dinning. Only several blocks from the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain.

LOUD! & Not impressed

I booked 24 nights in August here, since it is a luxury hotel a 5min. walk from where I’m studying for 3 weeks. Renovations were done to correct things other travelers mentioned, so I was glad about that. But they’re still going on on the 2nd fl. I’m 2 floors above that, & there was too much noise right after 8am. I use earplugs that block 33dbs (the highest I’ve found in US), but they were no match for the noise. The first 2-3 nights were okay, but then some VERY loud guests moved in above me, making noise at 2am, 5am, 11pm... I have never, ever complained about noise to a front desk before, & when I did I was told by Domenico that he would take care of it and call me back. That was over 3 days ago, and no phone call. Housekeeping ignores "Do Not Disturb" signs. Double lock the door when you’re inside, or they’ll come in anyway. While they clean & go in and out they leave the room’s door open, so put everything in the safe. Double bed means 2 twin sized beds put together, each individually covered, and they’re hard to keep steady even when just sitting on the end. The mattress is always moving off the base just from normal shifting. Breakfast is not complimentary for every room, and for the 1st week that I was there I was only asked my room # at breakfast 2x. I NEVER received a bill to sign for breakfast until the 2nd week. 22 euros for 1 coffee, 1 water, & 1 slide of bread. No thanks. The location & the fact that the staff can speak English are great, but that’s it.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

"di per di", a little grocery store on V.d. Vetrino towards V.d. Coronari is worth going to if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on the minibar. Six 1.5L bottles of Acqua Panna water, 2 yogurts, 2 cans of Sprite, and a cup of dessert all came to 7.85 euro, which is cheaper than 1 soda at the hotel.
