Extremely comfortable & nice!
I stayed here in 1988 & it was great...I just left there & it was amazing. The bed was FAR more comfortable than home & the courtesy of the staff was surperb. You cannot go wrong with this hotel. The roof top bar was classic NYC with the neon "Hotel Empire" looming above as I sipped my well made gin & tonic. The cheapest room is what we booked...it was small, but extremely welcoming. The next price down is a cheapo in chelsea or hells kitchen with bed bugs. The Empire is spotless.
go online & research cheap eats in NYC. Applejacks on broadway near The Tonight Show has great hamburgers for about $6.00...Lombardis Pizzaria is the oldest pizza in the U.S....the 1st pizzaria EVER & the best pizza I have ever had. (sorry Chicago)

Great Hotel-Cant wait to go back
Hip, Clean and comfortable (nice size rooms for NY)! Great location next to the Lincoln Center, Central Park and a number of fabulous places to eat all within an easy walk. The only cons : the business center was a small (closet size) room with a few pay as you go computers that did not all work well. Also, the rooftop pool area (prominently featured on their website) was not accessible at night because it seemed to be reserved for private parties.
