Great place to stay in Vegas!
We have stayed at several different hotels in Vegas, and Harrahs has a lot in its favor. We found that nearly every employee in the casino, restaurants, front desk, and room service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, even more so than in higher priced and rated hotels. I found that made our stay so much more pleasant than expected. The surroundings are what one would expect in a mid-priced casino hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our window did face the "Carnival Court" which was mostly the empty and under construction swimming pool (but this was in the middle of winter), which was not that attractive, but we did not spend all that much time looking out the window. I would certainly stay at Harrahs again, even though we did not find the slots or craps tables to be very generous (not that we expected them to be!). I am also not crazy about the "shops" on the way to the strip,as it is a bit hard to navigate the sidewalk towards the strip. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Decent deal and good location
This was a good deal for the location. We were able to walk to the Sands convention center every day (no need to waste $$ on the monorail) and get cheap coffee (McDonalds) along the way. Room was nice, and staff was very helpful and responded immediately to any issues we had (just one). Good choice for the strip if you arent looking for luxury but want a decent room centrally located.

Underwhelmed...
Weve stayed at Harrahs before and had good luck. Its not the best hotel on the strip but its close to the new Sands Convention Center and the price is right. We booked 6 rooms this time and most had a satisfying experience but one of our rooms was assigned to a smoking room which we requested non-smoking. The hotel said - Sorry...thats all we have left! In most towns this would be a minor problem but the smoking rooms in Vegas are typically used by heavy smokers. The room smelled bad! It even got into the clothing. Nasty!!! Another annoyance was the fact that they lost several overnight packages we sent at the last minute. They found them a day later but what a pain in the backside. Seriously, how hard is it to keep track of packages??? Next year...were going somewhere else.
