Old Bank is excellent
A modern, cozy hotel that also retains the charm of its vintage building. Great staff. They helped us with a taxi and with the train schedule when we had to leave at 3:00 in the morning. The only possible negative is the room size, which was cramped with a queen-size bed, but that is to be expected in England, where old buildings dont have a lot of space. The Old Bank was perfect for our visit to Oxford.

A classy hotel in the heart of Oxford
The Old Bank Hotel is a classy hotel in the heart of Oxford. We were treated like honored guests. The staff gave us recommendations and called in reservations for dinner. They helped us find buses, trains, taxis, and an Evensong service. When we left a hat behind, they called the porter at one of the colleges to have him find it for us. The location couldnt be better. We didnt rent a car and were able to walk everywhere in the town. The Quod, the restaurant on the hotel premises, was a feast for the eye and the palate. Sometimes we sat at the window and watched the students, bicycles, and buses go by on High Street. Sometimes we enjoyed the bright paintings and decorations of the restaurant itself. The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet puts American hotels to shame.

Friendly comfortable hotel
Lovely extremely comfortable room. Great location. Very friendly staff. Restaurant downstairs was also good, as was the (extra price) breakfast. The location was excellent. The only downside was that because the hotel was right in the center of Oxford driving to the parking lot behind the hotel was very complicated - lots of tiny streets. But then again, for an American driving in any UK city is always a challenge.
Travel off season for better rates and fewer tourists.
