This place delivers on all fronts. If you’re looking for romance, a beautiful beach, gorgeous rooms and royal treatment, you have found your destination! The Concierge level upgrade is worth every penny. They bent over backwards to meet our needs and desires. We met a man in the elevator who said that he had stayed everywhere - including The Ritz Carlton, and Sun Palace trumps them all with ease. You should really only book this trip with your significant other - the rooms are designed with the notion that you have nothing to hide from your partner (ie; the WC is only separated from the room by a frosted glass door that hides nothing). Also, you can hear pretty much everything that happens in the hallways due to the marble and glass construction. Otherwise, there are very few negatives about staying in the Sun Palace. We went as a Honeymoon couple over the week of our birthdays and the staff never missed an opportunity to make us feel like we were the most important people in the world. Absolutely, hands down one of the most memorable times of my adult life! FIVE STARS!

I STRONGLY suggest tipping the staff that serves you. Although it says gratuities included, they appreciate your recognition in monetary form. These people bust their butts endlessly to take care of you and $1 USD goes a long way in Cancun. If you need to get out and around, use the public buses. They cost about $.75 USD per person, per trip. They do not take US coins, but almost everywhere takes US bills. We did no exchanging.

What a wonderful place! From the minute we walked in and were handed a glass of champagne to the minute we left, we had an amazing time. The staff took the time to get to know you, were very helpful and friendly. The spa service was exceptional! We will for sure be back!

Stay away from the folks at the airport when you are trying to leave, they are just trying to sucker you in to buying something and when you don’t they give you a hard time until we tip them just so you can walk away.

Great place food/drinks not so much

The hotel was lovely and the room was a beautiful ocean view....we did concierge level and would recommend this if only for upgraded room service menu. After long days at the pool we surprisingly wanted to just stay in our room quite a bit in the evening, we are usually night owls, so the room service was good. The excursion to Isla Mujeres was a fun one. Ziplining tedious at first but fun once you get to do it.They only serve Tecate beer at the hotel ask for the "Sun" beer its much better only available at some spots like the swim up bar. They will not tell you about it. If you stay in concierge you can request Michelob Light in your room. The food is not the same as America at all and you may need frequent bathroom trips for several days getting used to it.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring your own DVDs you will want them! Bring some you are excited about seeing. Don’t forget to pack well, getting to Wal Mart by bus is a nightmare and NOT advisable for safety reasons. Don’t buy tickets to Coco Bongo online before trip we did as well as Dady’O over $180 never used one- too tired!

Great Time Graet place

The hotel and staff wre great. The service was excellent. The pools and the beach were clean and well maintained. The room was made up early and the room service was on time. The mini bar and frig came in handy when returning from the beach or pool. The jacuzzi in the room was perfect for a little RR before dinner. this was a great place to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Looking for ward to trying the other Palace rasorts

The SUN PALACE was Perfection!

This hotel was a beauty...Heaven on earth in the truest sense of the word! All inclusives are definitely the way to go, from the moment you enter the hotel until the time you leave you are treated as Sun Palace’s favorite guest. Whether lounging by the pool, oceanside, or at one of the many restaurants on the premises, all the staff members are happy to make you happy. Nightly hotel activities/events are a great touch, and so is the shuttle that goes to the expansive sister-property Moon Palace! I would definitely stay again and recommend all couples to stay here. (The fact that there were no children was also a plus to me, and the reason we picked this hotel in the first place.) I’m 23 and my bf 25, and although most of the couples were either older and married or newlyweds, it was still a BLAST! We met some great people, I’m sure the poolside drinks helped--but still! P.S. Stay on the concierge level! AMAZING, we were VIPS!

We did Zip Lining through the hotel for free (b/c its their 25th anniversary), it was exhilarating and definitely worth being a sweaty mess afterward! DO NOT buy any of the tours/activities that they try to sell you in the airport--or even that your shuttle service will try to sell you. You can set it all up with the hotel (Guest Services and/or Concierge) and they wont try to rip you off!

A true Mexican paradise!!

If you want to get away and have great food excellent service and a extermely clean facility, then this would be the place for you!! The whole no children all adults atmosphere made it perfect for a romantic getaway!

We don’t really go out at night; so if you stay in take some movies/dvds to watch because most of the TV stations are in spanish.

AMAZING!!!!

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and it was unbelievable. The Sun Palace looks just like the pictures, the beach is amazing and the hotel service was great! They met any needs we had or requests. They were always willing to serve. The room service was also amazing! We are definitely going back as soon as we can!!!

Don’t stay here in the off season

We stayed with palace resorts b4, & this did not meet our expectations. Food was boring and very similar every day on buffets. Many days they did not have what we ordered at other restaurants. Arrived on fri & left tues, could not book included tour till the day we left even though it was offered every day we were there & the hotel wasn’t even half full. And they don’t let you go on tours the day you’re leaving. Some staff was helpful & friendly others just obviously didn’t care. Jacuzzi in room was obviously dirty. Bed was uncomfortable (hard). We changed our mind and stayed here because of others reviews at the last minute. Big mistake. Maybe its better during peak season, but in the off season go somewhere cheaper. Our stay was not worth the big price tag.

If you stay here and want to go shopping or just into the major hotel zone, take the bus its way cheaper. But if you’re in a hurry take a cab.

Honeymooners--Stay Here!!

This was the best service we could have gotten! We were welcomed with a glass of champagne, our luggage was taken to the room by the time we got there. This was our honeymoon, so we got a lot of extra perks that were really nice. All the restaurants were really good. There was 24-hour room service, and we used it almost every day! The pools were quiet. This being a couples-only, there are no kids running around or taking up the pool. The service was great! Everything that we asked for was on time. The tours that were included were amazing! We did Chichen-Itza, Isla Mujeres, and Wet N’ Wild--swim with dolphins. The all-inclusive is just what it sounds like, although it is hard to believe. The ocean view was magnificent. We are already planning our trip for next year!

Great place to Honeymoon

This was one of the best stays at a hotel I have ever had. The staff was on point and you couldnt ask for better weather. I would recommend this to any couples who are looking for a relaxing getaway that is for adults only, no children. We are already planning our next trip next year and it will be this hotel again.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed at Sun Palace for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The couples only atmosphere gives you great opportunity to just relax and meet other couples. The food was very good, and every employee always was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Almost everyone there spoke fluent English also. The beach was big and always plenty of room to relax. Spacious pools with a swim up bar and full poolside service. Great spot on the strip, and an added bonus that you can go to any of the other Palace resorts, altough I bet you wont want to. Great stay, would love to go back.

I would avoid going to Xcaret, it was more of a family oriented zoo than anything else. Especially for the price. If you want to do any shopping at the malls, take the bus, its less than $1 USD and they run 24 hrs a day.

Make sure you visit mercado 23. Its where the locals shop for daily goods.

Sweet Hotel

I recommend upgrading to the conceirge level!! They treat you like royality!! We had our own check in! Beach Beds on the beach with our names in it blocked off so no one else would sit in our seat! come by every 10 mins asking if you want something to drink or eat! they wait on you hand and foot! Room service awesome!!! very clean hotel!! shows every night! great place for a honeymoon!! five course meals!! anything you want all day long!

Amazing

This hotel completely surpassed our expectations. We stayed for 3 days just as a little get away and it was perfect. Every member of the staff was amazing and the beach was always clean. It wasn’t crowded at all when we went.

I highly recommend swimming with the dolphins. You really are in the pool with them for 45 minutes or so. You can grab their fins and they’ll pull you across the pool. I’ll never forget it.

Awesome Honeymoon

We had a wonderful time at the Sun Palace. Our room was cleaned and tidied twice a day, our mini bar was always fully stocked, the beach was beautiful and the staff great. Our all inclusive package included a free trip to Tulum and a zip line adventure. The only downside was the food-- terrible. It was like eating at the hometown buffet every meal. The only one worth eating was breakfast. But if you aren’t a picky eater, you can’t do better than the Sun Palace!

Wonderful Hotel

I had a wonderful stay at the Sun Palace. The rooms, restaurants, beach, and pool were top notch. I recommend the Italian restaurant. Plus, the room service, which we tried for breakfast and lunch, were alway on time and the food was delicious. The service from the beach and pool waiters were great as well.

Best honeymoon destination

Everything was perfect. The rooms are awesome, the beach was beautiful and not crowded, and the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were amazing! What are you waiting for?

This was our second stay at this resort hotel. We love it! Picture perfect in everyway. The one and only complaint that I have is the sales pitch you have to go through following your check in.
