Loved Whistler
The Weston Resort & Spa in Whistler was a great choice! The best thing for us was the GREAT location to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. All other aspects of the hotel were top notch. I did expect a little bit more from a hotel that has been "recently remodeled" for the Olympics, but everything was satisfactory.

Will probably stay somewhere else in the Village next time.
When we got to the hotel, we noticed several postings around that indicated that the hotel was in the middle of a room upgrade. We got to our room and it was very clearly one that had not been updated. It was shabby and tired looking, with dents in the walls and a huge (2.5 feet long) red stain on the floor right beside the bed. It was distressing. When we expressed dissatisfaction, and were told that was the only room left with a King bed, which was listed as our preference when we booked. The desk clerk indicated that the room we were in quote: should have been taken out of service and we could not agree more. We were transferred to a very nice newly renovated suite. The room was very clean, very nicely decorated, bright light in the living room, beautiful deck, with nice furniture. A couple of areas for improvement: I stepped on carpet tack sticking out of the carpet in the kitchen, there was almost no counter space in the bathroom. The bedroom was kind of odd; a very small room with one window very high up in the vaulted ceiling-it felt stark and isolated. There was a small closet with no light inside it and you could not have the closet door and the room door open at the same time, and I kept bumping into the bed when I tried to look in my suitcase in the closet. It was awkward. Also, there was no television in the bedroom. I have not stayed in a hotel in ten years without a television in the bedroom. I think we will stay somewhere else next time.

Very Nice Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin. The pool area was nice which was great for the kids. The location at the end of the village was perfect. Much quieter in the evening than staying in a more central location.
