two times in nassau: the first and the last

made the grave mistake of choosing nassau as my holiday destination. please do not make the same mistake if you want to avoid tout infested plastic cruiseship port excuse for a town full of blue haired abd morbidly obese american tourists. if that is what you want to avoid then stay away from the British colonial hilton as well, their home away from home. hotel location is good if you intend to spend your days shopping for local so called souvenirs and fake handbags, as the famous straw market is just around the corner. If you are forced to stay in this particular establishment, make sure your room is not anyway near senor frog restaurant. unless, that is, you enjoy music blasting till wee hours of the night. Hotel claims to have their own private beach. nothing wrong with that claim, they actually do have . What they fail to mention is the miniscule size of it and the gargantuan size of the chrismaslit cruise ships that dock just opposite it within stone’s throw away. left the best for last. my room was already inhabited upon arrival by a pair of happy and not so little cockroaches. they can now be found on the centerfold of the welcome to bahamas book that they kindly put at my disposal in the foom.

Hotel nice, restaurant was good but service was awful.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Right in town for shopping but didn’t feel safe leaving the grounds at night. We had dinner in the hotel a few times and the meals were wonderful however the service was deplorable.
