Perfect Hotel for a Leisure trip to Beijing!
This hotel was absolutely wonderful for the price! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. The hotel staff and concierge are extremely helpful (the front desk even called my hotel is Shanghai to help me change my reservation). There is a tour desk right in the lobby that you can use to book excursions to the great wall, etc. (the prices here are a little bit more expensive than a company outside the hotel but then you have the convenience of being picked up right from your hotel room!). The hotel also has complimentary computers in the lobby which was VERY useful if your not traveling with a laptop (One of the computers even has skype with webcam so you can call home!). The very best part of this hotel was the LOCATION! The hotel is located directly in front of the subway station and this subway station is a "change station" so it serves 2 subway lines. This is incredibly convenient for getting around Beijing. A one way trip on the subway will cost you 2 RNB and you can get almost anywhere in the city. The subways are extremely clean, easy, and efficient, but if it’s not for you then the hotel has a large taxi waiting line and hotel staff that will call the taxi for you and tell the taxi driver in Chinese where you would like to go so that there is not any confusion. Overall, for the price I think this is an excellent hotel and would absolutely stay here again!
Traveler's tip on dining
Finding western food in Beijing is a little bit difficult, but directly across the street from the hotel is an AMAZING little bakery called Weidume and they have great croissants, danish style pastries, turkey sandwiches, american coffees, cappuccino’s, expresso ect.There is a bakery right next to the hotel, but this bakery is not nearly as good so don’t make the mistake of going there!
