perfect base for kyoto area site seeing
the hotel granvia is a beautiful new hotel located atop the kyoto train station which makes it a perfect place to stay when you are travelling in the area and using trains to get around. would have been nice if use of the pool was included instead of costing a nominal fee.

best place to stay in Kyoto, good location, good value and most important extremely good services.
spend extra money to stay on the 14 or 15 floor, you will get access to the lounge with tea or coffee and snack. extra services, beautiful view of Kyoto... its worth to that extra money.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
if you have more than 3, or traveling together, take the taxi, its cheaper than the subway. go to the Maikos dancing and dinner show, its a very good experience, not as touristy as you think. Food was excellent and dance was beautiful.
