Love this Place
Planned a last minute trip to Jamaica and found the description of Round Hill to be enticing. We had reserved a standard ocean view room, but when we arrived there was some work on the hotel area so we got upgraded to a private villa. The entire resort is built on the side of a hill and every villa has a view of the ocean and is wonderfully landscaped. While at our villa, we felt like we were the only people there -- very tranquil. But we could also take a short walk to the beach or restaurant if we wanted to interact with other guests. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. We had a tropical storm come through on our last night there and the staff did a great job of communicating the status well in advance through letters and personal discussions from the resort manager. It really made everyone quite comfortable and when the storm did hit, the whole place seemed safe with the natural protection of the hills. After reluctantly returning to work, a co-worker told me that she and her husband have been to Round Hill several times and just adore the place. What a small world. And I had never thought to ask anyone at work for recommendations.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Plan to take some trips to local attractions in order to soak up all that Jamaica has to offer. The front desk staff can help make arrangements, but they are not as knowledgeable about the details as the Concierge. You may want to meet with the Concierge during business hours to get recommendations and details (e.g. Do you need to take a towel with you for some trips?). Once you have settled on your plans, the front desk or even bellhop can assist with making the reservations.

Anniversary Trip
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The good news is this hotel is great for its rooms and service. All rooms have a spectacular view of the ocean and are large and comfortable. The service is great especially when you tip well. The bad news is the food is not very good. Although breakfast and afternoon tea is great but the lunch and dinner leave much to be desired. We tried eating in restaurant a couple of times. The first couple of times food is always dry and overcooked; on the second night my wife got a rotten lobster and mine was badly cooked. We talked to some other people who informed us their lobster was frozen on the inside...Yuk. From then on we went out to eat. There is an infestation of mosquitoes and bugs in our room. I came home with 2 dozen bites. I was miserable for a couple of days because of this. The beach is very small and not maintained at all. It has growths and rocks everywhere the floating platforms you see in the pictures are broken and have sea growth on them. Considering that this place overcharges you for everything and then tacks on additional charges you would expect much better.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
I would suggest getting a villa so you can have your own chef. Go to the Lobster Trap right next to the resort. It looks like the third world as you make your way over there but once you sit at your table you are right on the water and it is lovely. The food is great and at reasonable prices. They wont get you sick like the resort food. Get away from this resort with a driver that will take care of you. The local news papers have things to do while on the island.

Amazing Vacation
Incredible hotel with impeccable service. From the minute you walk in everyone knows who you are, remembers your preferences and provide unbelieveable service. We stayed in the Pineapple House with our 9 month old. The room was fantastic and just big enough for our little family. There were a lot of families at the resort, which was perfect for us, but I wonder how some of the couples felt or if this is normal. We used the all-inclusive option - and the food was excellent. We were reluctant to use the nanny service, simply because we were nervous. We ended up using the service on the last day and it was *Amazing*. In retrospect we should have used for a few hours each day. The other guests were all friendly and great to meet. *Incredible Vacation*. We will be going back.
The nannies are baby whisperers and the kids club was fantastic. Use it all!!
