Great service, but...
I chose this hotel based on other reviews that raved about its service and sure enough, the service was outstanding. HOWEVER, the 3 most important things to me about a hotel is its location, does it have a decent quiet bar with a late last call, and "can I get a decent night of sleep?" The hotel is located at least a mile away from anything. Just one diner and one good Mexican restaurant (that’s also a lively bar) is within walking distance, and that’s it. So, anytime you need to go anywhere, including the subway station, you have to ask the hotel staff to take you, which they ALWAYS do, but it’s awkward, espcially if you need to get around a lot. Hotel does have a small bar, but I never saw it open because I always came back at around 11pm, which is exactly when I would want a nightcap. As for sleep, it wasn’t great. The walls are thin, you hear some traffic, and most importantly, the ac/heating unit is loud. You can either have it blow air constantly, which is loud, or you can set it automatically and every time it kicks in it wakes you up. Still, I’m satisified overall. Again, the service was great. Oh, and the breakfast was really great. So, depending on what you’re looking for, this hotel is can be great.

Kid friendly
We were so impressed with the customer service that we received. We were greeted everyday by friendly desk people who were very knowledgeable about the local area and attractions in Atlanta. The Wingate offered shuttle service to the Marta station which made traveling very easy especially with children. The breakfast was always fresh and once again the chef and his assistants were always very friendly and accomodating. We plan on returning and will stay at the Wingate.

Excellent experience. Full hot breakfast every day. Helpful staff. Limo service available. ( short hops free, longer - like to the airport - for a fee)
