Awesome Hotel, Great Price

The Park Royal Cozumel was awesome, particularly when you consider the price. The facility was top-notch, our room was very clean, and the service was impeccable. Also, the hotel is not too far from the shopping district and ferry terminal, so the taxi ride is short. The things we liked best about it were the pools (one of which overlooks the ocean waters) and, believe it or not, the food and beverages. We ate at the buffet (La Veranda) for almost every meal (and at the Italian restuaurant once) during our 5 day stay. I am from Las Vegas originally, so I consider myself to be a good judge of all-you-can-eat and drink buffets and I thought the quality of the buffet was very high. We did not get sick despite drinking the water at the restaurant, although we did use bottled water for brushing out teeth. Having said that all these great things though, the one thing that visitors should know is that Park Royal is in the business of selling timeshares, so we did volunteer to sit through a 2 hour presentation. Fortunately, we did it early in the day and we didn’t get a hard sell, so it wasn’t too bad. The reward for doing so is that we got a couple days car rental and 2 Chitzen Itza tour tickets, which saved us some money overall, so be sure to get some sort of reward for your time spent!

Great Hotel

The hotel was a great time. We were there as a graduation gift to me/birthday present for my girlfriend. The service was excellent, the food was good, and the shows at night were fun. Don’t be afraid to get on stage, you might just win a bottle of tequilla! The biggest downside was the people who acted as concierge but were really trying to sell time shares to the guests. Just blow them off and enjoy your time there. Also, just be aware there are some mosquitos around, so you might get bit, but it wasnt a mood killer. Overall, it was a great time. We were able to get crazy if we wanted to and just sit around and read next to the pool as well. This is the second Park Royal I have stayed at (the other was in Acapulco) and they both were great.
