Ok for the price, good location
The staff at this hotel are clueless. I arrived at 11pm to have them tell me there was no booking in my name. I showed them the receipt and they looked for 10 mins and said that they had already checked me in earlier in the day before Id arrived! I worried there would be someone else in my room! The room was very small, outdated interior. At 11pm the outside noise was quite loud and I realised that the windows were wide open behind the curtains. There were a steady stream of ants on the bathroom floor, mirror rusty etc. Its about a 25 min walk to Fishermans Wharf area, so the location is quite good. The neighborhood felt safe. The complimentary breakfast was muffins with juice / tea coffee and oatmeal, cant complain for free. You want a cheap hotel in San Fran - this is it. You get what you pay for. Its a bit of a dump but its cheap.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Walk down to Fishermans Wharf for dinner, hand around and when it gets dark catch a cab back to this hotel, it will only cost $6, saves your legs and walking quiet streets.

The Room was so small
The hotel room was so small that it was hard for us to sleep well. Furthemore, there was no restaurant at all around the hotel. The only good thing was its location. It would not take more than 30 minutes to take a foot to the Wharf.

Charmed
We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. We loved our room. It had character and was charming. We loved the location in the city. No complaints. (okay the bathroom was tiny, but we didnt mind.)
