Good price
Good place if you do not want to spend much money, and if you are going to be out shopping or enjoying Chicago, then it will be a great place to sleep.

Excellent location
Location and price cant be beat, hotel could use some cosmetic upgrades. Overall, I would stay there again. The staff was very friendly and accomidating, they also allow pets at no extra charge which is rare these days.

Great location - Terrible maid service!!!
I would recomment the Red Roof Inn - Downtown Chicago as it has one of the best locations in Chicago. Located less than one block off the Magnificent Mile, it is also within walking distance from major attractions such as Hancock Tower, Navy Pier, Hard Rock Cafe, and Millennium Park. The friendly staff was always willing to answer questions and assist with luggage, however... the maid service lacks attention. So much attention that we did not receive maid service any of the 3 days that we were registered. We reported the issue and after the second day without service we received assurance from the front desk and even the head of housekeeping came to the room and personally assured us that the room would be cleaned - but never did. Disqusting houeskeeping service!!!
Whle visiting Chicago, the best way to experience the city is by using the public transportation. Traffic is ridiculous and locating a place to park almost impossible, so the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers a variety of day passes - I got a 3 day pass that offered unlimited rides on the trains or busses. WIth a quick swipe of this pass card, I was able to go anywhere within the city and outskirts without hassle. Most run 24/7. Remember to bring confortable shoes as I did a lot of walking.
