Outstanding B and B!
We arrived with my wife and daughter and Tom greeted us and gave us a warm welcome. He provided a LOT of sound information and advice which proved very valuable for our stay. His recommended restaurant, Dick and Jennys was a real winner! His wife, Patricia, is warm, friendly and a terrific cook! The regular chef is also an artist with food! The location is in a neighborhood near Loyola (where my daughter was starting school) and Tulane. The St. Charles St. street car is just 2-3 blocks away ($1.25 exact change) but it is pretty slow. We just drove around the area. There is the Magazine Street commercial area a few blocks south but I was not impressed. One of the two houses is on the national register of historic places and both seemed well maintained. Rooms were very immaculate and tasteful. The room service was impeccable. The cost of the room was very reasonable (we were upgraded to a better room since the housekeeper was in an accident and did not clean our original room). My only MINOR issue was the number of locks you had to go through. It was tough figuring out which key to use in going through 3 sets of door. I guess security is good and I may just a fumbler when it comes to keys. It is located in a nice and safe neighborhood. I am sure that you will enjoy your stay here!
Traveler's tip on dining
Dick and Jennys restaurant on the unpronounceable street that start with a T is a fine introduction to New Orleans cuisine. It is right across from Rousses. We enjoyed the darken fish and the shrimp pasta. The ambiance was a bit eclectic with hand drawn plates on the wall.

Maison Perrier, New Orleans
This is an excellent facility, a terrific bargain and a welcoming place from which to explore a magnificent city. The rooms are large and well maintained; the food is delicious; the location is very convenient yet restful and amid beautiful buildings. The owners are pleasant, dedicated to their guests and the overall experience is well worth it.
