The Wynhdam is very nice
We stayed in mid-January 10. Everything you would expect in paradise at a 3-star resort. Clean grounds and rooms, beautiful views, plentiful drinks (the pool bar is a riot), good snack bar food, bad buffet food, exceptional ala-carte restaurant food. Roberto’s is a very good place to eat. The beach is awesome (water shoes required in teh water, though). The snorkeling was very good in front of the resort. Excellent Kid’s Club program. We would go back again.

Don’t waste your money.....
The hotel looks very much like the pictures. However, the buffet is the worst food you will most likely ever eat. The resort is "all inclusive" but expect to pay fees out of nowhere and be asked straight out for tips from the employees. The beach is extremely rocky and not well maintained. The employees are rude and have a habit of rolling their eyes if you are in need of help. If they even bother to acknowledge you. Amazing view from our room. You get what you pay for and this hotel isn’t even worth that. However, eat at Chen Rio on the south side of the island. It’s a dive and inexpensive but the seafood is the best on the entire island!! INCREDIBLE!! But pay in pesos.
