Perfectly located and Free Mini-Bar, too!
Great location, excellent service and amenities, free mini-bar, workout room and roof lounge with pool. Could we ask for anything more? Yes- an extremely comfortable double bed (and it was indeed!). We spent our 15th anniversary in Barcelona at the AC Diplomatic, and found ourselves centrally-located and well-taken care of.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
This hotel is 1-1/2 blocks from the Metro and Renfe stations, on a street parallel to Passeig de Gracia and all the shops. We walk to most of the sites from here (except Parc Guell). One drawback was no Internet in the lobby, However, they do have free WiFi.

Nothing special
Hotel has hardwood floors throughout the rooms and hallways. The gap under the doors causes sound to go in and out of the room. The hotel smells like cigarette smoke and the bathroom showers are awkwardly positioned to where the shower head liberally sprays all over the bathroom floors causing slippery floors. Anything left on the floors while showering will be soaked. Not a bad hotel aside from the statements above...nothing special. Perfect location though!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Theres a great coffee shop across the street with the best chocolate crossants. Metro station is about the blocks west of the hotel, very safe and affordable! Theres also a delicious restaurant 2 blocks west of the hotel right on the corner that serves the best kabobs.

No restaurant for dinner in summer
This is a great choice for a tourist. If you need a hotel restaurant, however, this is not the place for you, as the hotel restaurant was closed for the summer. Otherwise, it is great; you can get room service, snacks, and a stupendous brunch. No dinner, however. That was the only drawback for us.

You will have to select another spot for dinner if you come in the summer.
