The Rhinestone embedded on the Jewel Isle
The Elysian was appointed as one of St. Thomas finer places to stay. We booked our trip with confidence that we made a great choice, I was sadly mistaken. To be fair, I have both negative and positive points: Negative points -The hotel beach was actually a marina that had a giant sewer pipe-like drain right in the middle of it. -The owner of the hotel told us not to dine at the restaurant (Roberts) located on the premises! That raised a red flag. - The room had a leaky old air conditioner that was so loud it gave me nightmares. - The bathroom had bloated plywood cabinetry that was in disrepair. There was large amounts of rust in the bathtub. -The microwave had to be moved to the floor should we wish to use it as there were no outlets provided in its location. - Outdated 90s decor-style room. - We didnt get fresh towels at all. We were there 4 days. Ew. Positives: - The Pizza Place called Ainsleys on the grounds was fantastic. - The gardens on the property were beautiful. - The poolside bar was tended by a very entertaining bar tender and the drinks were a decent price. - The pool was pretty, private, and quiet. - Friendly staff.
If you go to St. Thomas, please plan a trip to St. John. Its a half hour ferry ride and its so beautiful I cant even describe within 1500 characters. Two words: Trunk Bay.

Not a nice place.
There were no elevators, so you have to carry your own bags. We stayed 3 nights, the room was cleaned only once. Giant roach in the room. I would not recommend this hotel. The beach was a little rocky. Rent a car if you go to St. Thomas. The taxis are expensive.
