Favorite Cozumel Destination!!!
We absolutely love La Ceiba...We are snorkelers & scuba divers & their location is ideal. You can snorkel right off their beach, it’s a roped-off area, the ocean is calm and filled with every color of fish. Also, the dive boats can pick you up on their dock. We have returned to La Ceiba for MANY years. We love watching the cruise ships arriving and departing from international pier. We enjoy the walk into town or you can always get a taxi. The best part overall is the staff. They are always there to help and always have a smile.

Great improvement.
Totally renovated and looked great. Studio very comfortable for 2. When ships are in it’s a 5 minute walk to Pier with lots of shopping and restaurants. $7.-8. cab into downtown. Sunday night 9:pm live music with dancing in the square. Great watching all the local families. Great restaurant Casa Mission to really feel like you are in Mexico. Service, food and atmosphere fantastic. Not to be missed. Snorkeling from beach in front of Hotel. Various ways of getting all-inclusive. 2-3 days not just by the week. Would stay there again.

El Cid La Ceiba
Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and helpful; good range of activities for families. Restaurant could be better, but cab ride to town is cheap. Excellent hotel for scuba divers, as most scuba operators will stop at the hotel’s pier. The only drawback is some (temporary) noise from renovation of the international pier in front of the hotel. One of the few with a beach.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Excellent for scuba divers because of pier; good snorkeling, including a wrecked airplane, right off the hotel beach. San Miguel has some good restaurants, such as La Choza, Abuelo Gerardo’s, and Las Tortugas.
