Nice location, poor decor in rooms, hallways and restaurant.
What a great location - right by the Opera House. But the decorator has some explaining to do - was she going for 1960s Asian Grandmother? The hallways reminded me of a hospital. And the restaurant decor was so busy I could barely eat my breakfast. Nice staff and great location couldnt make up for the shabby-no-chic.

Way behind the times
This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, but it does not offer Internet access in its rooms. I tried to connect and was charged $15 (an "automatic" charge each day even if you only peek at one email). The hotel is large and impressive from the outside, but the decor is outdated and a bit cheesy, the Musak played in the elevators is annoying, the professional services only provided at inflated additional cost (at a time when smaller hotels already offer free wireless or even computers in the rooms). We booked here to use the gym, which was the only thing about the hotel which was reasonably good. The breakfast is full of packaged products rather than fresh ones, and the food we had at this hotel was high priced and not especially good.
