Great location, good value!!
Right in the heart of union square, 1/2 block from cable car stop..amazing location! Wonderful evening wine reception, every night! Charm of an old hotel with modern amenities.

Great Place to Stay
We loved the location! We walked a lot and it was so close to Union Square, the cable car stop, Chinatown was a couple blocks away. It was clean. Most of the staff were extremely friendly. The nightly wine reception was a great bonus!

noisy hotel
This hotel is in a good central area. however, the hotel is also not far from a large fire station. Therefore, you hear fire engines constantly, day and night. Also, you will hear dumpster trucks. We got no sleep while we stayed at this hotel, but the front desk staff did. On our first morning, we went downstairs and the girl working the desk was sound asleep, snoring loudly. We left the hotel and went to starbucks. When we returned 15 minutes later, she was still sound asleep. We got on the elevator, and went upstairs all the while not waking her up. She never knew we left and returned to the hotel. The rooms here are very small. The bathrooms have running toilets. I won’t stay here again.
get a multi-day pass on cable cars/trolly’s and muni. (Bart is separate). It is worth the money
