Good choice
This is a good choice. Rooms are small but hey, the beaches are nearby. This is one of few hotels on ipanema/copacobana where you can have breakfast with a view of ipanema. Helpfull reception.
There is a very good and affordable steakhouse 2 blocks from ipanema. I forgot the name but the reception will know. It’s the one with the small round paper on the table ’I would like some more/ no thank you’. By the way don’t go to Marius. $$$$$$

Small well located beach hotel
Nice, well located Ipanema beach hotel. Prices are very adequate. Air conditioning could be better of it could be controled from your room instead of calling the reception each time. Also the A/C units are too loud and old. Breakfast is fine except for the juices: should have standard fresh organge juice.

Best Budget Bet
Took the budget room, which was predictably tiny, but you can’t beat the location, and the service, and the price. Would definitely stay there again, but might splurge a little for a better view.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
Take a taxi and check out Lapa for the nightlife. Lots of people and good music. Check out Carioca da Gemma.
