riu merengue experience
hotel room had very poor air condition , complained 4 times before another room was offered but it was on our last night so we stayed in the same room next time we will stay at the bachata its far more confortable...out of the three hotels....

Thank You to Riu
My friends and I had the best time ever. The staff greeted us with drinks. Junior (the bell hop) made sure that we got to were we needed to go on our escursions. The food was good. There were no time share people. The air was on in my room the whole time. The room was also clean. There is a whole lot more that I could say about this hotel. Definetely a revisit is in order
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Make sure you tip. The staff works hard. Do as many escursions as you can. They are worth it. I did golf/waterfall hike/horseback/jet ski’s/ and other and had a blast

Outdated resort with musty rooms and terrible food!!!
Don’t trust the positive reviews....this hotel is not worth your time or money! We were very disappointed in several areas. The beach itself was ok, but the water was full of seaweed, rocks and coral--so not a good swimming beach! The room was infested with a terrible moldy, musty odor that permeated all of our clothing. When we tried to switch rooms, we were pretty much "laughed at" by the front desk personel. The food was of very low quality....below the quality you would get on the most basic cruise ship buffet! Always tons of rice on every buffet, and if there was fresh grilled fish or chicken...not much of it available. The entertainment was ridiculously bad! Because of this nightmarish experience....we will never again stay at ANY Riu resort!!
