Emporia Ixtapa - Excellent choice!
Excellent staff. Views are exceptional and service was above standard. The only complaint was that there was no ice machines working after the 3rd day and had to go to the lobby and request a bucket of ice from the kitchen or bars.
Traveler's tip
If you don’t mind not having all the local shops and eateries open and very few tourists, fall is the time to go here.

Not like used to be
I went with my family last August and found the Hotel worst than in previous visits (4 years ago). The main problem is the Hotel infrastructure which is old and does not look to have been renewed recently. We had to change rooms twice before finding one were all worked properly and was clean. The pool is always like 95F degrees which is annoying and is not properly cleaned. On the other hand, the service is excellent (has been there for years).

Very nice hotel
Very clean, people very friendly. Wonderful beach, activities and close to everything: good restaurants, discotheques, market, hospital.
