A very disappointing experience
The room was on the second floor with a "view" of the next buildings wall. The kitchenette located just opposite the bed - quite ridiculous. The carpets were stained and old and gave a dusty and unpleasant scent. The table at the "dining area" was wobbly and chairs looked like they were gathered from an old wedding house. No doubt that for this price you can do better, even in NY.

BEEKMAN is a value
the roof top breakfast and dinner area is spectacular for its views and romantic at nite for a drink. pleasant to walk up (or down) 1st avenue on a good crisp fall morning. Room was small but worth the money paid for it. One draw back I arrived at 7PM and had to wait 20 minutes for a room. Bellman exceptional in getting me taxi service to the airport at a very resonable rate in a luxury town car and other concierge type advice.

Nice hotel next to the UN
Beekman Towers is a nice hotel - low cost, clean and reasonably comfortable (all by NYC standards, of course). I personally like rooms with included kitchenettes because I find it very convenient to eat breakfast in the room, have options for coffee/snacks and the ability to order take-out from neighboring restaurants. The staff is courteous - a terrific value for the money
