What a disappointment
We were extremely disappointed by the room: It was stark, dark, small and dingy. We thought this was going to be a very nice hotel because it was recommended and it was more expensive than most in the area. We were obviously disappointing by the room and they offered to show us an alternative, more expensive, room. We paid for an upgraded room because it was late and we had been traveling all day. The upgrade was expensive and the room was still barely acceptable, in fact it smelled of mildew. This hotel was dingy, worn, ugly and uncomfortable in stark contrast with the other two hotels we had booked during the trip and it was more expensive. For a little less, we stayed in the 1e at the Hotel Vendome and it was very comfortable, small but elegant, clean, well maintained and well lit. We explored other hotels in the area and found a great one around the corner with all the amenities you would expect for less money. How this hotel rates as one of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the world", I do not know.
