Great Honeymoon

We went to sans souci for our honeymoon and loved it. October was great, in the high 80’s only rained for a few minutes a couple of afternoons and it was their low season so not super busy. The resort was beautiful, the people were great. The food and drinks were all great. We had a beachfront suite in A block which I highly recommend. The A and B block are right on the beach, the other buildings are a little bit of a hike to get to the beach and there are alot of stairs if you stay on that side of the resort. We loved that all the watersports were included in the price as well as 3 excursions all included in the price. Beautiful resort, great people, We loved couples and can’t wait to try the other couples resorts in Jamaica.

Dunns river falls, don’t buy shoes you can rent them for $5 at the resort and at the falls. Take plenty of money for tips cause you will need it on this trip (bus driver, falls guide, and videographer guide) and a waterproof camera, you will get soaked.

Very Nice

We stayed 11 days in a one bedroom beachfront suite. It was a very nice room. There is a sitting room with a chair and a love seat, a bedroom with king size bed, a balcony with a table and chairs - very comfortable. There is a large bathroom with a big jacuzzi tub. The quality of the food is very good. Breakfast is buffet style, and different items served daily. There is a buffet available for lunch - again, lots of variety and they switch up the menu every day. Dinner is a choice of 3 restaurants all with very good food. Drinks are light on the alcohol. The resort was not crowded. It is a beautiful location - lots of nooks and crannies get away from the rest of the guests. The staff is wonderful - extremely friendly. We would definitely return.

Perfect but for one thing

There was a water issue with the room. When we arrived there was a small amount of water on the floor. We called and they sent someone to mop it up.The problem was not about the amount of water on the floor but the room always felt damp and nothing would ever dry out. We were moved to another room with the same GREAT VIEW and the problem for us was solved. The staff was FANTASTIC and I would go back in a heartbeat. This place is a real bargain!!!

Great trip, so much fun, Ya Mon!

We have stayed at Couples Swept Away 4 times and thought we would try one of the other Couples resorts. At first we were cautious due to our complete satisfaction with Swept Away. We have taken friends with us each time and recommended it to others who have gone and come back with the same great experience. Sans Souci exceeded our expectations and we plan on returning. They were very detail oriented, the staff friendly and attentive and at times sought us out and engaged us in activities. The only bummer is that Air Jamaica does not still make the non-stop from LAX. Our flight with Delta was OK, but it took us 12 hours to get there.

No need to compare other places

This is where you want to go. Every single thing about this hotel is for romance and relaxation. Service is wonderful, the property is breathtaking. The food is fantastic, the entertainment is abundant and oh.......the beaches. Don’t miss the mineral pool and all the animals on the property. If you go, you won’t want to leave, I promise you this. It’s luxurious and authentic.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Be sure to bring water shoes for the Dunn’s River Fall excursion which is included in your stay.

We would love to go back someday!

It would be difficult to find better service anywhere, and the best part is that it’s all included in the price. We asked to exchange some of the alcohol stocked in the refrigerator with another type, expecting a small "airplane" size bottle, but we were given a full size bottle, then another one a couple of days later even though the first one was still half full. The staff goes out of its way to make sure you’re satisfied at all times.

Great resort

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff was fantastic everyone was so friendly and helpful. If you looked like you were loss they would stop and ask if you were ok and if they could help with anything. The food was very good. The beach was great and the rooms were nice. I would definitely go back to this resort. Be prepared to climb a few stairs but stop and enjoy the scenery along the way because it is beautiful. Also dont forget to say hello to the parrot because he will say hello as you past b

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you decided to go into the market place during your shopping trip in downtown Ocho Rios be prepared to be bombarded with vendors trying to sell you items. Always bargin and when you are ready to leave be firm about it or you will spend too much time in there. I recommend going on the Dunn River Falls trip it was great. Dont forget your water shoes

A Honeymoon to remember

Couples Sans Souci is a gorgeous setting with gardens, hummingbirds, sea turtles, parrots, hermit crabs, and cute little lizards. It was like living in a tiny rain forest with no rain. The grounds are kept immaculate. There is always new nooks to explore here. There is a lot of steps to get to and from places, so if you have trouble with your knees and back beware. The staff were super accomodating. They never said no except for "no problem mon". They were the main reason we enjoyed our vacation so much. The food and drinks were wonderful. I have always been skeptical of the food and drinks at all inclusive resorts and do not expect much, however, Couples Sans Souci is an exception. You must try the hummingbird. It’s amazing. I highly recommend staying here, you will not be dissapointed.

An Amazing Find!

What a find! It was our first vacation together and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel. It has such character and charm. With only 150 rooms you never feel crowded. The grounds are spread out and are amazing with lush greens and many opportunities for finding your own space. There are hammocks nestled in the trees. There are three pools and a great small beach area which is more than adequate. Everyone goes out of their way to make your visit perfect. It is great for couples who don’t want the distractions of children and business travelers. Definitely take advantage of the all-inclusive option. I guarantee you will get your money’s worth. We would definitely return to Couples San Souci.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss Dunn’s River Falls! What fun! You get to climb up the water falls with the assistance of guides. They have it down to a science and make it fun for everyone. You get to stop along the way to play in the water and get pictures. It is definitely a must see and do!

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

I stayed at the hotel for my June 2009 vacation with my boyfriend. The ride from the airport from Montego Bay to the hotel was exhausting. It was about a 2hr ride. Once at the hotel, I was extremely dissatisfied with the look of my room. I booked the one bedroom ocean view (called F-Block) and it looked completely different than the pictures. I complained the very next morning and I was able to get a complimentary upgrade to the beachfront suite (called B-Block), which was very, very nice. My safe in both rooms were broken. I guess you can’t have it all! The staff were extremely nice. The grounds of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Be prepared to climb a million steps. This hotel is large and has A LOT of steps. The beach is nice and not crowded. The food wasn’t to my liking though. I can’t say they have wonderful food. Be very careful with the locals. They want tips for EVERYTHING and are never satisfied with what you give them.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Take advantage of the all inclusive activities. They are very fun and make your trip that much better. Dunn’s River is beautiful. Although it’s not part of the package, try jet skiing. It’s not expensive and it’s terrific!

It was just OKAY!

While we had a great time, the pictures on the website of the rooms were deceiving. The rooms look and smell like motel rooms. The only reason I did not rate this resort lower was the view. We had a wonderful time, the staff people were gracious and it was just plain ole fun! You forget about the moldy smell of your room after day two and then you just have a good time.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Make sure you do everything that is included, that will take you through day 3! Snorkeling was fun, kayaking was cool; the best was climbing the waterfall! The food was just okay....but the party on Friday night was tons of fun!!!

We will absoutly go back, unique unlike the rest.

This hotel was very Clean, Comfortable, and Enjoyable. The Social Directors keep you entertained if that’s what you choose or you can sit back and relax and truly feel as if your in an intimate setting. Nestled into the mountain side of Jamaica not along a hotel chain. We scuba dive and the dive masters were great along with beautiful reefs- even for snorkeling. Also has a seperate All Natural Beach, Pool and Bar. A stream runs down the mountain into the ocean at this beach(very neat)and best spot for sunset.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Shopping is scary-- they are touchy but don’t be afraid to say no or to bargain with price. Do all you can do in Jamaica it is beautiful, wheter on land or in the water.

Awesome Vacation!

I REALLY enjoyed this trip and the resort was wonderful. The all-inclusive plan is definitely the way to go and a complementary trip to Dunn’s River Falls came with the package. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time and loved the adults-only atmosphere. Top shelf beverages and room service were also included. The view was beautiful and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Definitely suggest paying for some spa services...the best massages ever!

Nice place

The resort was actually very nice and we had a great time. I think some of the older rooms need some work. The room we were given on our first night was on the lower level facing the beach. Their was mold on the furniture and drapes and the room had a very musty smell. The rom was not the cleanest and was in need of a makeover. We requested to be moved the following day and were given a room on the top level facing the beach that was much better. Same layout, but had updated furniture and decor and was much cleaner. The people working at the resort were very friendly and the service was outstanding. The food was very good and there were different events going on in the evenings to keep you entertained. Overall the resort property was beautiful. The beach area was small, but due to the resort being smaller, you never felt cramped for space. Beach needs more huts ~ I am very fair skinned and have had problems with skin cancer over the years and it was tough to get a beach hut unless you went out very early in the AM and put your stuff out. I would return to this resort in the future and would recommend it to a friend.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Limit your travels outside of the actual resort. We went on three tourist trips outside of the resorts and the local Jamaicans will rob you blind. We spent more money tipping people and buying stuff we didn’t need because they are relentless. It was very uncomfortable dealing with the locals outside of the resort property. Also, the Bob Marley Homestead and museum is not worth the ride or the money - what a rip off.

Jamaica Resort Virgins

The Resort is spacious. We stayed in a suite in F Block and had a fantastic, peaceful view. We were quite a ways from the pool and beach, but the serenity on the deck was worth it. Breakfast in the room is a great way to start your day. Very accomodating staff. Only complaint I had was I couldn’t get any fresh bananas - they grow ’em on the island - Jan bad month maybe?

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Margaritaville and Hard Rock Cafe are in town. OK if the Ships are in town. I do not reccomend walking around town after dark.

Great Resort, but it rained for a week straight

We didn’t have the first complaint with the resort. Food was great, staff was helpful, and grounds were incredible. The stairs were great exercise and without them you wouldn’t be able to see the awesome views. The beaches weren’t great, but the pools made up for the lack of sand. The weather wasn’t nice enough to get a tan, but we made the most of our holiday. I can say that was the only complaint, but we know you can’t control the weather, so drink more Cream Rum!!!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Dunn’s River Falls was by far the best thing we did, it was very intimidating, but once you get going it was awesome... We wore our tennis shoes and think it made all the difference in climbing the falls. Don’t spend the money on shoes there or renting, just where what you brought and hang them to dry in your room.

met expectations except for food

This is a Couples resort. If you have been to one before, you have a level of expectations. Oceanview balcony suites F block were fabulous. specialty restaurants were good. theme dinners were not good at all. breakfast and lunch buffets were plain. lots of stairs could be a problem for some. would have liked the piano bar to be earlier.

Can’t wait to go back!

The service was FANTASTIC and the food was 5-star. We were shocked at how much effort they put into every meal. The drinks at the pool bar were great and the watersports were a lot of fun.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The Hotel offers free transportation from Montego Bay as a part of your package. So there is no reason to pay $160 RT for a service.

Our annual anniversary trip at Couples

This is our 8th Couples experience, but our first at SanSouci. As always the service, the food, the room and the overall experience were excellent. Our only Complaint (if you could call it that) is the resort is very large and spread out.Be prepared to do alot of walking from one place to another. There are many stairs to climb as well,so if you have trouble walking or climbing, this is not the resort for you.

Beautiful Honeymoon!

We couldn’t have asked for more! The hotel and grounds were absolutely beautiful. It was never crowded, and never felt touristy. The hotel staff was the best we have ever experienced. Even a maintenance man passing by asked how were were! We would go back every year if we could!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We definitely recommend the spa, and the dolphin excursion! And definitely make reservations at the two restaurants in the evenings... the food is wonderful!
