Disinterested Staff
Hotel was dank, but that can be expected in a Historic Hotel. Room was very cold, without the ability to adjust the heat appropriately. Bar was very interesting, great service, food and atmosphere. I was told when I drove in that it was mandatory to valet, a service to Hotel Mengers guests. Unfortunately when I left, I was notified that I was to pay a $25.00 parking fee. I informed the gentlemen at the front desk that it would be appropriate to inform customers upfront about the charge or maybe even at the time of booking. The gentleman at the front desk, apologized and said that there was nothing he could do. A lady, came out, she purported to be a manager and told me that this is the way it is and tough luck if I did not like it. So, as I told the gentlemen at check out, it was my first and last stay at the Hotel. I am a Regional Sales Manager for a fortune 50 Company. I stay in Hotels over 125 nights out of the year. This was probably the worst expereince i have had in over ten years.

good enough
We were happy enough with the room and service, but the cost for parking was a surprise. Not unreasonable considering it is downtown. Easy walking to La Villita and the Riverwalk. Internet connection in the room is for one computer, we needed three-- no wifi except in the lobby. We were in the newer section of the hotel which gave us a balcony. My husband was out on the balcony with his coffee every morning overlooking the pool. Lovely mornings.
