Great digs in DC
The location of this hotel is great for people wanting to visit the major monuments and museums of DC. The manager is from Trinidad and loves to chat. Everything is within 15 minutes casual walk. The metro is just 1 block away, giving you options further afield. There are lots of (cheap) eating places within walking distance, as well as fancier places eating and shopping places within 2 blocks. Theres also a cheap souvenir shop at 1000 F St. The only downside is some panhandlers around- but you can assuage your conscience by buying them a meal with the money you save staying here.

Excellent for a quick one night stop at Washington
It has all we needed to stay one day at Washington: close to Union Station, quite close to de museums, not to far from the White House to walk, close to subway stations. If the Internet service would have been included in the room rate, it would have been better.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean, great location!
The Red Roof Inn Washington, DC Downtown is a good place to stay. It is a short walk to the Washington Mall, and there is a very nice Safeway grocery store four blocks away that has a deli with lots of good food. Our room was decent and a resonable price for being in the center of DC. We bought food from the Safeway and enjoyed not having to leave any tips. The parking was full at the RR Inn when we arrived, so we parked at the garage under the Verizon Center one block away and that was just fine. The only bad thing I can say is that the bedside radio got poor reception and it was just a lousy radio. The staff were friendly and I would stay there again.
