Tremblant in Dec 08
Firstly, you definitely want to stay in the Tremblant "village". This is a private resort (exacting a fee on hotels and merchants) so everything there is more expensive than youd expect. But sliding from the hotel to the lift makes it all worthwhile. Fairmont Hotel is a busy place with lots of people and families mulling around all day. It is very convenient: you can rent skis and buy ski tickets inside the hotel. The hotel itself is not as elegant as other Fairmont (Montreal, Banff, Lake Louise), more of a family place. We did not eat there because of high price, e.g. CDN$25/pers (our rooms were very nicely priced thru Expedia) and there are other cafes and restaurants around. We did not check other hotels (Westin, Qunitessence) which might be more luxurious ( but were 2-3 times the price). The Fairmont is fine, especially if you plan to ski and enjoy other restaurants in the village. We had a great stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal.

If you like to ski stay here
If you like comfort and convenience this is the hotel for you. In this hotel you have great rooms and ski in/out access. The only bad thing was we had to wait three hours for a room. This hotel is located right in the middle of a beautiful and elegant village with plenty of places to eat, and visit.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
dont order soup and French fries up to your room, or else you will end up with a 25$ bill.
